The "look and feel" of the NWS La Crosse website has changed. Reasons?

  • Improved web infrastructure and redundancy will bring stability and keep weather information in your hands when you need it most!
  • Consistent "look and feel" across the NWS offices

As with any major revision, there are likely to be a few "broken" links or some functionality that doesn't work quite right. We will do our best to fix those ASAP.

How does this impact the NWS La Crosse page?

  • Your bookmarked pages might not work as the naming structure for most pages will be slightly different. Solution - when our new page becomes active, go to it, find the page you are interested in, and bookmark it. If you load an old bookmark, you may be redirected to the new page - be sure to bookmark this new page.
  • Two "top menus"
    • The very top is a "national" menu and these links will direct you to NWS nationally managed information - not local information from the NWS La Crosse.
    • A "second" horizontal menu contains local area information. The links contained here will point to NWS La Crosse managed, and/or specific, information. Most likely, this is the information you have come to our pages to find.
  • A new "site menu" at the bottom of the page. Many of the menu choices that were found on the left-hand side of the current web page will be found in this site menu. Unfortunately, you will have to scroll down to find them. Some of these links could change from season to season, or for upcoming events, etc. - but most will remain the same year-round.
