Scattered to numerous generally east moving showers (PoPs ~ 40-60%) and lightning storms are forecast to develop into this evening with the greatest coverage forecast near the coast. Rain shower (PoPs ~20-40%) and lightning storm chances are gradually expected to end after sunset before ending by around midnight. Isolated storms will be capable of wind gusts up to 40-50mph, frequent lightning, and moderate to heavy rainfall. 9 PM temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s with partly to mostly cloudy skies are forecast. A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect at the local beaches. High astronomical tides will produce above normal water levels around the times of high tide. The potential exists for minor inundation of low lying properties near inlets, nearby areas along the Intercoastal Waterway, and adjacent canals. Some docks may briefly get overtopped by water. Additionally, a High Risk for life-threatening rip currents exists at area beaches. Entering the water is not advised.
