Flooding Threat Continues in Portions of Texas; Poor Air Quality in the Great Lakes through the Mid-Atlantic

Widespread life-threatening flash and urban flooding continues in south-central Texas, with considerable flooding impacts possible across central Texas. Wildfire smoke is impacting air quality across much of the Great Lakes region into southern New England and the Mid-Atlantic. With hot and dry conditions expected this weekend, along with breezy conditions, we wanted to explain a bit more about the Grassland Fire Danger product. Fire danger is a concern this weekend, especially with all the activities with fireworks. We've also included a short video from Darren Clabo, State Fire Meteorologist for South Dakota.
