Here is the Labor Day weekend forecast for select inland locations across Southcentral.

For the rest of this evening, scattered showers will continue across the region with an isolated storm or two near Talkeetna.

For Saturday and Sunday, scattered showers will continue across the region with more persistent rain in Kenai and points south. Gusty winds are expected to develop through Palmer on Sunday afternoon.

A strong front moves across Southcentral Sunday night through Labor Day on Monday, with widespread showers expected along with gusty winds.

The north Gulf Coast and eastern Prince William Sound are in the path of a significant rainfall event starting Sunday night and continuing through midweek.

A strong front associated with a low centered south of the Alaska Peninsula Sunday night will move across all of the north Gulf Coast through Monday morning.

Once the front has moved inland, a series of secondary lows and fronts will move along a steady track from south to north, resulting in a long-duration rain event over much of the north Gulf coast, with a focus on the area from Cordova eastward. However, there is still some uncertainty with storm total precipitation amounts. The rain may be heavy at times, and it may stop completely at others, but for the most part, a steady rain will continue across the region for several days.
