More fall-like temperatures the next few days, with highs in the 70s to lower 80s & lows in the upper 40s to 50s, followed by a gradual warm-up by early next week. A return to fair weather with plenty of sunshine is expected through the upcoming weekend.
The latest Drought Monitor update shows Abnormally Dry (D0) to Extreme Drought (D3) conditions expanding. After today, rain is not expected for the next 7 days.
Thursday will be cooler across Central Alabama, with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s. Clouds increasing east to west during the day. There will be some isolated showers in the east, with a rumble of thunder or two in the afternoon.
