To support our Core Partners' ever-changing and complex decisions, NWS Charleston, SC offers Impact-Based Decision Support Services (IDSS) for southeast Georgia and South Carolina.

IDSS provides forecast advice and interpretive services when weather, water, or climate has a direct impact on the protection of lives and property. This support can be recurring or episodic and delivered remotely or on-site.

 

 

Who can request IDSS?

 

This service is exclusively for NWS Core Partners. NWS Core Partners are government and non-government entities which are directly involved in the preparation, dissemination, and discussions involving weather, water, or climate-related NWS information that supports decision-making.
This specifically includes:

  • Emergency Management community
  • Real-time Media
  • Government partners
  • Water Resources Management community

How do I request support for an event?

 

Core Partners may use this form to request NWS weather support for a vulnerable outdoor event located within our forecast area. PLEASE SUBMIT NO LATER THAN 1 WEEK PRIOR TO THE EVENT.
