A couple periods of showers and thunderstorms will bring much needed rainfall to the region, with amounts mostly ranging from 1 to 2 inches. Showers look to remain mostly scattered today, with areal coverage of showers and thunderstorms increasing overnight into Saturday morning. Given the drought conditions, only minor flooding is possible primarily for low-lying and flood prone areas. Chances for severe weather are low.
