Severe thunderstorms producing damaging winds, hail, and a few tornadoes are expected through Tuesday across parts of the central Plains and lower to mid Missouri Valley. The very cold weather pattern the Northland experienced during December 2013 will continue into the first half of January 2014. The forecast calls for near-record low temperatures across the region through at least Wednesday.
