SKYWARN Recognition Day gets underway Friday evening! This annual event is our way of celebrating the contributions amateur radio operators make across the country in helping the NWS complete its Mission of protecting life and property. This year, the event runs from Friday, November 30 at 6 pm until Saturday, December 1 at 6 pm. This year, NWS Des Moines will be taking part only from 6 pm to 10 pm Friday evening. If you're an area amateur radio operator, we invite you to stop by the office Friday evening in that window of time to say "hello".
