Severe Thunderstorms and Critical Fire Weather Wednesday

Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible across portions of the northern High Plains Wednesday afternoon and evening. Severe wind gusts are the primary hazard. Overview

A severe weather outbreak occurred on Monday, March 6th 2017. Six tornadoes were documented to have occurred in the National Weather Service Des Moines County Warning Area, including 2 that were rated EF2 strength. Numerous reports of hail and wind reports were noted with many of the storms.
