Tropical Storm Edouard Along the Gulf Coast; Heat Expands Eastward

Tropical Storm Edouard off the central Gulf Coast will bring tropical storm conditions and heavy rainfall to portions of Upper Texas and southwestern Louisiana coasts Tuesday into Wednesday. April 20, 1973

Just after 6 p.m. on April 20, a F3 tornado touched down in Scotland County Missouri. The tornado started approximately 3 miles southwest of Arbela, MO and moved to the northeast towards Prospect Grove, MO. The tornado traveled to the northeast and was on the ground for about 9 miles.

There were no reports of injuries or fatalities with this particular storm. Around seven houses were damaged on the east side of Arbela and a gas station was leveled when the tornado moved through the area. Total damage estimates from the storm were around $250,000.
