What's Expected:

Several rounds of heavy rain fell across northern Iowa, southern Minnesota, and western Wisconsin 10 to 14 days ago. There were widespread amounts of 4 to 8 inches reported with isolated areas seeing over 10 inches.

The following rivers have gone into flood:

  • Cedar
  • Iowa
  • Wapsipinicon
  • Mississippi
  • Maquoketa

What to Do:

  • Don't go around any barricades. Turn around and find an alternate route.
  • If you have interests along a river, monitor forecasts closely and take protective actions if needed.
  • Campers along streams, creeks, and rivers should especially be alert and have an evacuation plan if flooding develops.
