Overview

Cloudy skies and much colder conditions were found across the area Saturday, Dec. 17, as a strong arctic cold front tracked east across the region. Bands of snow were found just behind the front, with snowfall accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. Strong northwest winds of 15 and 25 mph were common, causing some blowing and drifting of the freshly fallen snow. Temperatures fell through the afternoon, reaching the single digits and teens by 6 pm.
