Lake Effect Snow in the Lower Great Lakes; Rain and High Elevation Snow in the West

Lake-effect snow will continue downwind of Lakes Erie and Ontario through Friday. In the Western U.S., rain and higher elevation snow will continue over the Great Basin through Friday. Overview

A strong low pressure system tracked from southwest Iowa to north central Iowa Saturday afternoon. Storms developed, moved across a warm front, and four tornadoes touched down over eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois.    

A few other storms brought small hail and damaging wind to portions of the region Saturday night.
