Extreme Heat and Excessive Rainfall Today

Dangerous and extreme heat will remain across portions of the southern U.S. this week. A heat wave over the Southwest U.S. will intensify this week, peaking and expanding into the Intermountain West and northern High Plains this weekend. Severe thunderstorms producing very heavy rain moved across northern Missouri during the evening on June 28, 2017. Widespread rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches were noted generally north of Highway 36 with some localized amounts exceeding 10 inches from Maryville eastward to Bethany.
