September 7, 2014 Henry County Airport Downburst:

 

Henry County Airport (Atlanta South Regional Airport) -- Hampton, GA:

A National Weather Service survey team determined that damage caused on the evening of September 7th was a result of downburst winds estimated between 70 and 80 mph. These winds caused notable damage to several airplanes and facilities located at the Henry County Airport. Six airplanes were destroyed when they were ripped from their tie-downs and flipped -- some considerable distances. Fifteen other planes received minor damage. Minor damage was also done to roofing, fascia, and hangar doors of some buildings located on site.
