Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central Georgia

Dry conditions are anticipated in north and central Georgia
through Tuesday. A Fire Danger Statement has been issued for
portions of central Georgia for today due to expected afternoon
humidity values below 25%. Fortunately today`s winds will be
significantly lighter than what occurred yesterday. Peak wind
speeds in the 4 to 8 mph range can be expected between 11 AM and
5 PM. Very low humidity values, 25% or less, should occur in
central Georgia again on Tuesday. An additional Fire Dangers
Statement is likely (85% chance). Winds will be more consistent
from the southwest on Tuesday (5 to 10 mph). Fuels should become
increasingly dry over the next 48 hours, with 10 hour fuels being
most favorable for fire starts Tuesday afternoon.
