.DISCUSSION...

A Fire Danger Statement has been issued for portions of central
Georgia this afternoon as minimum relative humidity values are
forecast to drop into the 20-25% range alongside dry fuels in
these areas.

Dry and cool conditions continue. 20 ft winds today will be 5 mph
or less and out of the S in north GA and out of the E in central
GA. Transport winds in northwest GA this afternoon will be out of
the S-SW at 9-14 mph, but will be less than 7 mph elsewhere. Min
RH values this afternoon fall to around 20-25% across much of the
area, with around 30% across far northern areas. Peak mixing heights
will be around 4-4.5kft this afternoon. On Thursday, 20 ft winds
start out near calm, before gradually increasing to around
4-7 mph out of the SW by the afternoon. Transport winds on
Thursday afternoon will be out of the SW at 8-10 mph in central
GA, and 10- 15 mph in north GA. Min RH values fall to around 25%
in central GA, and 30-40% in north GA. Peak mixing heights will
be around 5- 6kft. Conditions warm through the weekend with rain
chances remaining very low.
