Dry conditions will remain in place today, increasing the risk
for fire starts. A Fire Danger Statement has been issued for
central Georgia where several hours of relative humidity values
below 25% are anticipated this afternoon. In north Georgia
minimum relative humidity values should be in the 25 to 35% range
today. Winds today will be consistent from the southwest at 3 to
8 mph. Humidity levels will increase on Wednesday ahead of an
approaching storm system. Expect minimums near 50% in the
afternoon. A few light rain showers are possible in the evening,
but widespread wetting rainfall is unlikely. Slightly stronger
west winds, 6 to 12 mph with gusts around 18 mph, are anticipated
Wednesday afternoon.
