.DISCUSSION...

Chances for rain will begin to increase across far northwest
Georgia during the early morning hours, then progress further
south and east in the daytime. Numerous showers and isolated
thunderstorms are forecast largely north of I-85 in the morning
and early afternoon, with the greatest chances shifting to the
south of I-85 in the afternoon. Lightning with thunderstorms that
occur may cause ignition of very dry fuels. Rainfall amounts
through Saturday are forecast to range from 0.25-0.5 inch, though
locally higher amounts may be possible where stronger storms
occur. Minimum RH values could drop to around 35 percent in
east-central Georgia on Saturday afternoon where precipitation
will be latest to arrive. Elsewhere, RH values will range from
45-60 percent. Winds will be SW at 6-12 mph, with north Georgia
shifting to NW behind the front in the late afternoon and
evening.

Isolated showers will be possible on Sunday, with the highest
chances in central Georgia. Chances for thunderstorms will be
confined to the far southeast corner of the forecast area.
Minimum RH values will range from 35-45 percent areawide. Winds
will be NW at 5-10 mph. A wetter, more active weather pattern
will continue into early next week.
