How to Obtain Daily and Monthly Normals and Extremes

Find temperature, precipitation, and snowfall normals and extremes for many locations.

You can get data for:

  • Atlanta Area (includes ATL)
  • Athens Area (includes AHN)
  • Columbus Area (includes CSG)
  • Macon Area (includes MCN)
  • ...and several other locations

For official data, contact the National Centers for Environmental Information.

Daily and Monthly Normals / Averages

Open the Climate Page  (includes snowfall)

  • Select 1. Location.
  • Under 2. Product, choose Daily/monthly normals.
  • Under 3. Options, choose Monthly or Daily, then select the variable you want.
  • Click Go. A graph will be created, with a table of values below it.

Monthly Extremes

Open the Climate Page  (includes snowfall)

  • Select 1. Location.
  • Under 2. Product, choose Monthly summarized data.
  • Under 3. Options, select the year range. You can type POR for Period of Record.
  • Select the variable, then under Summary choose Daily Maximum or Daily Minimum.
  • Click Go.

Daily Extremes

Open the Climate Page  (includes snowfall)

  • Select 1. Location.
  • Under 2. Product, choose Calendar day summaries.
  • Under 3. Options, select the year range. You can type POR for Period of Record.
  • Select the variable, then under Summary make your selection.
  • Click Go.
