NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PROVIDES NEW
RIVER FORECAST SERVICES IN NORTH GEORGIA

The National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office (WFO) and the Southeast River Forecast Center (SERFC) in Peachtree City, GA, will provide new hydrologic services on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, for the Chattooga River near Summerville and for the Yellow River near Lithonia, in central Georgia. These locations will become a flood-only forecast points which means forecasts and warnings are issued when the river level is expected to rise near or above flood stage.

In addition, data for these points are provided by our partner, the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Without this critical data, forecasts and warnings would not be provided at these points.

To get the latest information on these and other river forecast points, please visit our Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service Page.
