Record Event Report Product for Hastings Nebraska

On or about April 3, 2023, the NWS Weather Forecast Office in Hastings, Nebraska will begin issuing Record Event Reports (RER) for Hastings Nebraska. The RERs will be issued for temperature and precipitation events in Hastings. The RERHSI product will replace the RERGID product which was used to report climatic record information for Hastings. The Record Event Report will be issued as a text product. The RER will be disseminated through the NOAA Weather Wire Service via the NWS Telecommunication Gateway (NWSTG)

RECORD SNOWFALL AND LIQUID PRECIPITATION RECORDS SET AT
HASTINGS...

Hastings reported .93" of liquid precipitation today which beat
the old record of .50" set in 1912. Hastings also reported 10.8
inches of snow which beat the old record of 2.5" set in 1960.

Hastings also set the daily snowfall record for the month of
January with 10.8" which beat the old record of 9.8" set on
January 31, 2002.
