Severe Thunderstorms in the Midwest and Arizona; Heat Continues in the Southeast and Southwest

Thunderstorms, some severe, may lead to scattered instances of flash flooding across the Midwest and Ohio Valley and southern Arizona. The threat will shift to the Mid-Atlantic coast on Thursday. High pressure will start building in overnight and cause clouds to decrease.  This decrease in cloud cover, along with the colder air from yesterday's cold front, will cause temperatures to drop below freezing tonight.  Almost the entire forecast area will wake up to temperatures below 32F.  However, a quick warm-up is in store with high temperatures rebounding to the 60s for a lot of valleys. The weather looks fairly benign through much of the week with the next chance for any significant precipitation on Thursday.
