Heavy Rainfall to Bring Flooding Threat to California; Heavy Snow in the Sierra

A strong atmospheric river will bring heavy rainfall to California through the holiday week. The heaviest rainfall is expected on Wednesday in the Los Angeles Basin. Flash and urban flooding is possible. A prolonged heavy snowfall is expected in the Sierra Nevada from the atmospheric river, raising concerns for major snow‐load impacts. First Triple Digit Temperature of 2018!

The Grand Junction Regional Airport officially hit 101 degrees on Wednesday, June 13th at 3:54 PM MDT! This was the first time Grand Junction hit the triple digits this year, and it was the first time since July 18, 2017! Wednesday's high also breaks the record for June 13th which was 100 degrees, last set 100 years ago in 1918.
