Severe Storms and Heavy Rain in Texas; Record Heat Along the East Coast

Scattered severe storms with large hail, isolated severe gusts, and localized flooding are expected across parts of west Texas. Isolated flash flooding is also possible in the central Gulf coast. An early season heat wave will continue to impact the eastern U.S. today, before isolated severe storms move across the central Appalachians into the Mid-Atlantic and far southern New England. First Triple Digit Temperature of 2018!

The Grand Junction Regional Airport officially hit 101 degrees on Wednesday, June 13th at 3:54 PM MDT! This was the first time Grand Junction hit the triple digits this year, and it was the first time since July 18, 2017! Wednesday's high also breaks the record for June 13th which was 100 degrees, last set 100 years ago in 1918.
