Regional Outbreaks of Severe Weather Through Early Next Week; Early Season Heat Wave across the South

Active spring pattern across the center of our nation with several episodes of severe weather and heavy rainfall expected into next week. The potential for very large hail, long track tornadoes, severe wind gusts, frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes and flash flooding are in the outlook. Another Pacific storm will be moving through the region today. This storm will bring more snow to the high country this afternoon with snow persisting through early Tuesday morning. New snowfall  accumulations will average 4 to 8 inches for most of our mountain areas with lighter accumulations in the valleys. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect for much of the region.  Winds will also be gusting to 50 mph at the peaks with blowing snow at the passes.
