Rare Christmas Tornadoes
Christmas 2016 will likely be a memorable one weather-wise. According to preliminary reports, four rare December tornadoes occurred Christmas Day across western Kansas, with a handful of severe thunderstorm wind reports across generally central and western Kansas. These were only the 12th December Kansas tornadoes since records began in 1955, and the first time severe weather has occurred on Christmas Day across Kansas since records began.
