Dangerous Heat in the East; Critical Fire Weather in the Southwest

Dangerous, record-breaking heat will intensify across most of the central and eastern U.S this week. Heat indices will likely exceed 100 degrees. Heat is likely to continue across the eastern U.S. through the Independence Day holiday weekend. Touch down occurred in the country north of Tuscola, just west of I-57. The tornado crossed the interstate and did minor damage to two residents and destroyed several farm out buildings. The tornado then traveled northeast and merged with the Villa Grove tornado, just northwest of Villa Grove.
