2026 Hydrological Summits National Weather Service - Baltimore/Washington

Purpose: To bring together all levels of government, along with local media and other regional organizations, to discuss and improve hydrologic services, with a focus on mitigating impacts from extreme flood events.

Overview: The National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office will be holding four separate regional day-long hydrological summits in March/April 2026. The day will be structured to encourage open discussion through various presentations, tabletop exercises, and panels.

Summit Details: The hydrological summits will be hosted in a hybrid format with both a virtual and in person option, but it is strongly encouraged that you attend in-person in order to create the most productive discussion and collaboration possible. All summits will cover the same flood related topics including presentations, discussions, and an exercise based on an extreme flood scenario localized to the hosted area.

Attendees are responsible for their own lunch arrangements. There will be an hour break for lunch. Coffee, water, and snacks will be available, donations welcome.
