A mild Saturday is shaping up with low temperatures on Saturday morning only falling into the mid 60s to low 70s across the state. Saturday high temperatures will top out in the upper 70s to upper 80s.
Rain chances will be elevated on Saturday across the state with the western half of Arkansas with the higher potential to see rain and isolated storms. Rainfall totals on Saturday may near one inch along the Arkansas/Oklahoma border.
Recent rainfall has allowed for some improvement in drought conditions across the state. The most widespread improvements occurred across portions of north-central to northeast Arkansas.
On this day in 1981, a period of rain and flooding began with six inches common over the course of several days. The southern half of the state saw the highest amounts.
