The National Weather Service in Little Rock considers values below 0 degrees Fahrenheit (for a period of several hours and a wind speed at least 10 mph) to be excessively cold, and will usually issue a Cold Weather Advisory. Under these conditions, people are advised to protect themselves from the cold, and cover exposed skin with several layers of clothing.
When wind chill index values reach -15 degrees (for one hour and a wind speed of at least 10 mph), a Extreme Cold Warning may be posted.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock considers values over 105 degrees Fahrenheit (and/or temperatures over 103 degrees) to be excessively hot, and will usually issue a Heat Advisory. Under these conditions, people engaged in outdoor activities are advised to drink plenty of cool non-alcoholic beverages, and should take frequent breaks in an air-conditioned environment.
When heat index values reach 110 degrees (and/or temperatures are 105 degrees or greater), an Excessive Heat Warning may be posted.
