Below normal temperatures will continue through Tuesday, then warm to normal values before warming again above normal through next weekend. Heat index values through Wednesday will be under 100° through Wednesday, then above 100° by Thursday and may approach Heat Advisory criteria over portions of Arkansas during the latter part of the week into the weekend. Rainfall chances across the state will be limited with the best chances coming on Tuesday across portions of far southeast Arkansas as a disturbance pushes through the state. Otherwise, any shower or thunderstorm activity during the week will be isolated and diurnally driven each afternoon.

The pattern across Arkansas does not favor precipitation for the next seven days as both upper level high pressure and surface high pressure will remain in overall control. Whatever precipitation we did see over the past few weeks was scattered in nature but now it looks like everyone is going to get dry.

Another pleasant morning is in store for the state Monday morning with lows in the 60s.

Temperatures over the next week will not get nearly as hot as what we experienced last week but there is a definite upward trend as next weekend nears.

Our friends at the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, forestry Division have placed southern Arkansas in a moderate risk of wildfire danger. With a very dry pattern shaping up, the risk could likely become greater.
