The heat risk for Thursday and Friday will range from moderate to major across the state with even a few isolated pockets of extreme. Heat related illnesses are possible and of course stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest time of the day.
Temperatures inside a car with closed windows can become deadly in a very short amount of time. Remember to beat the heat and check the back seat every time.
We will continue to see some very warm temperatures over the next few days and beyond. Please remember to check in on those who are more vulnerable to heat related illnesses.
The upper level pattern currently favors hot and dry conditions locally. By late week, the pattern should shift with increasing chances for scattered afternoon showers & thunderstorms. Temperatures should remain hot since precipitation is anticipated to be scattered about.
