There is a slight chance of severe weather along the Arkansas and Missouri border this afternoon and evening. The primary concern is gusty winds but a brief tornado or two can not be totally ruled out.

Temperatures across Arkansas are expected to climb into the mid 80s to mid 90s with plenty of humidity as well. Lows Saturday morning will fall into the 70s statewide.
Conditions will turn hot and humid over the next several days. By late in the weekend into early next week, heat risk will climb into the Major Category across a large portion of Arkansas.
Temperatures on Friday will average at or even a touch below average but come this weekend and into next week, temperatures are going to rise. Upper level high pressure will crest over the mid south through most of next week bringing those summertime temperatures back.
The latest drought monitor is showing some improvement this week as many parts of the state have seen some rain. A little more rain will be possible on Friday but after that, upper level high pressure will begin to build over the region effectively ending rain chances for a while.
