...A Review of 2017 Weather And Climate Data for North Little Rock...
Summary
====================================================================
2017 was the coolest year at North Little Rock in two years. However,
it was still the 6th warmest year on record by average temperature.
In terms of departure from normal, the warmest months (relative to
average) were February and January, and the coolest months were
August and June.
For the second year in a row, there were no 100-degree temperatures.
There were just 28 days with freezing temperatures, which was the
least in five years.
Annual rainfall was above average for the third year in a row. The wettest
months were April and May, and the driest months were November, October,
and September.
Snowfall was below average for the first time in four years. The only
measurable snow fell on January 6th. However, there was a trace of sleet
and snow in March and in October. The sleet (which counts as snowfall)
in October was the first during the month in 24 years, and the earliest
ever recorded. Hail fell in July.

Feb. 7th - The daily average temperature of 69.5 degrees was the 2nd highest
daily average temperature recorded in the month of February.
Feb. 11th - The low temperature of 63 degrees was the second highest low
temperature on record in the month of February. Also, daily average temperature
of 70.5 degrees set a record for the highest daily average temperature recorded
during the month of February. The previous record was 70.0 degrees on February
17th, 1986.
Mar. 20th - It was the 10th warmest day on record in March (in terms of high
temperatures), with a high of 84 degrees.
Mar. 21st - It was the 5th warmest day on record in March (in terms of high
temperatures), with a high of 85 degrees.
May 4th - The high temperature of 56 degrees went down as the 8th coolest
high temperature on record in the month of May.
Aug. 13th - The high temperature of 76 degrees marked the coolest high
temperature in the month of August since 2013, and most recently tied August
20, 2008 for the 5th coolest high temperature on record during the month of
August.
Oct. 8th - The daily average temperature of 79.5 degrees ended up being the 8th
warmest such reading on record for the month of October.
Oct. 9th - The high temperature of 91 degrees marked the 3rd highest temperature on
record in the month of October at North Little Rock, most recently tying October 12,
2015. The low temperature of 71 degrees marked the 3rd warmest low temperature on
record in the month of October at North Little Rock, most recently tying October 7,
2007. The daily average temperature of 81.0 marked the warmest daily average
temperature at North Little Rock in the month of October since 1986, and tied
October 3, 1986 for the warmest on record.
Oct. 14th - The high temperature of 90 degrees marked the 4th warmest temperature on
record in the month of October at North Little Rock, most recently tying October 9,
2010.
Oct. 28th - The high temperature of 50 degrees ended up tying October 31 for the 6th
coldest high temperature on record during the month of October. The low temperature of
34 degrees marked the 6th coldest low temperature on record in the month of October,
and the coldest October reading since Halloween of 1993. The daily average temperature
of 42.0 marked the 5th coldest daily average temperature on record in the month of
October.
