...Arkansas Records its Wettest February...
...Many Locations Within the State Have Seen their All-time Wettest February
on Record...
...The State As A Whole, And Many Locations Within The State Have Also Seen
One of the Wettest Winters On Record...

With the heavy rain that fell last week, it`s hardly surprising that February of 2018
quickly became one of the wettest Februarys on record at many locations in Arkansas. This
also bumped up the rainfall totals for the winter season significantly, and there were some
locations that ended up with a top five wettest winter.

For the state as a whole, it appears that February 2018 was the wettest February since
1939, and preliminarily will go down as the wettest February on record since state
averages have been tabulated (1895).

.Record Wettest Februarys...

Listed below are locations that have set a new all-time record rainfall for the month
of February, as well as the previous record February for comparison. Little Rock
recorded its wettest February since 1882, and Mount Ida recorded its wettest
February since 1894.

.Record Wet Winter...

With record February rainfall, and heavy rainfall during the fourth week of December,
winter rainfall totals at many locations ended up being some of the highest ever recorded.
At 15 locations, winter of 2017-2018 went down as the wettest since records began. Keep
in mind that the winter season is defined as December 1st-February 28th.

For the state as a whole, it appears that the Winter of 2017-2018 will go down as the
wettest Winter since 1949-1950, and the 3rd wettest on record since state averages have
been tabulated (1895).

Listed below are locations where the winter of 2017-2018 was a top five wettest winter.
