Dry and breezy conditions will bring elevated to critical fire weather conditions across portions of the northern and central High Plains through this weekend, where fuels remain largely receptive. On February 21, 2008, Susan Spears and Pat Vesper of the National Weather Service, Midland/Odessa presented a Department of Commerce Honored Institution Award to the Zia Gas Plant of Hobbs, New Mexico. The National Weather Service in Midland would like to thank the Zia Gas Plant for their 25 years of service.
