Most of the Missouri basin reported below average precipitation
during the month of June.  Also, streamflow data indicates the 
flows for June were below average.


Precipitation in Montana was below average with amounts ranging
from 9 percent of average (0.23 in.) at Cut Bank 3SSW, Montana to
289 percent of average (6.39 in.) Hardin 34SSW, Montana. Precipitation
in Wyoming was generally below average with near average precipitation
being reported across the Powder and Little Bighorn Tongue basins.
Reports ranged from 0 percent of average (0.00 in.) at several
locations across Wyoming to 189 percent of average (2.32 in.)
at Powell 23NW, Wyoming. Precipitation in northeastern Colorado was
below average, with reports ranging from 0 percent of average (0.00 in.)
at several locations across the state to 154 percent of average
(3.90 in.) at Wray 2E, Colorado.

June 2007 Basin Mean Precipitation


Stored water in the South Platte Basin as of July 1 was 93
percent of average for this time of the year. Stored water in the
North Platte Basin was MISSING of average July 1 storage. Buffalo Bill
Reservoir held 102 percent of average July 1 storage. Of the four
major irrigation reservoirs in Montana, Lima Reservoir had 74 percent
average storage; Clark Canyon was holding 63 percent of average water,
Gibson Reservoir had 81 percent of average stored water and Fresno
Reservoir had 85 percent of average stored water. Of the three major
hydroelectric reservoirs in Montana, Canyon Ferry and Fort Peck had
monthend storage in the average range; 99 and 56 percent of average water,
respectively. Bighorn reservoir was holding 102 percent of average
stored water.
