PRECIPITATION IN MONTANA WAS BELOW AVERAGE WITH AMOUNTS RANGING
FROM 0 PERCENT OF AVERAGE (0.00 IN.) AT SEVERAL LOCATIONS TO
87 PERCENT OF AVERAGE (5.20 IN.) AT DARKHORSE LAKE, MONTANA.
PRECIPITATION IN WYOMING WAS BELOW AVERAGE. REPORTS RANGED FROM 0
PERCENT OF AVERAGE (0.00 IN.) AT SEVERAL LOCATIONS TO 85 PERCENT OF
AVERAGE (4.50 IN.) AT EVENING STAR, WYOMING. PRECIPITATION IN
NORTHEASTERN COLORADO WAS BELOW AVERAGE, WITH REPORTS RANGING FROM
0 PERCENT OF AVERAGE (0.00 IN.) AT JULESBURG, CO TO 37 PERCENT OF
AVERAGE (2.40 IN.) AT TOWER, COLORADO.

November 2007 Basin Mean Precipitation

 

OF THE FOUR MAJOR IRRIGATION RESERVOIRS IN MONTANA, LIMA
RESERVOIR HAD 52 PERCENT AVERAGE STORAGE; CLARK CANYON WAS
HOLDING 56 PERCENT OF AVERAGE WATER, GIBSON RESERVOIR HAD
31 PERCENT OF AVERAGE STORED WATER AND FRESNO RESERVOIR HAD
71 PERCENT OF AVERAGE STORED WATER.  OF THE THREE MAJOR
HYDROELECTRIC RESERVOIRS IN MONTANA, CANYON FERRY AND FORT
PECK HAD MONTHEND STORAGE IN THE AVERAGE RANGE; 87 AND 55
PERCENT OF AVERAGE WATER, RESPECTIVELY.  BIGHORN RESERVOIR
WAS HOLDING 96 PERCENT OF AVERAGE STORED WATER.

RUNOFF DURING OCTOBER, AS INDICATED BY U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY LONG
TERM GAGING STATIONS, WAS BELOW AVERAGE.  THE MARIAS RIVER NEAR
SHELBY, MONTANA HAD 56 PERCENT OF AVERAGE RUNOFF.  THE YELLOWSTONE
RIVER WAS ESTIMATED TO HAVE HAD 79 PERCENT OF AVERAGE RUNOFF AT
CORWIN SPRINGS, WHILE AT BILLINGS, MONTANA RUNOFF WAS 75 PERCENT OF
AVERAGE.
