Heat indices will surge 105+F today as humidity increases across portions of east Arkansas and northwest Mississippi.

There is a Marginal Risk for a few severe thunderstorms along and northwest of the Mississippi River late this afternoon into this evening. Damaging winds and localized heavy rainfall are the main threats.

Slightly cooler temperatures expected into early next week. Heat indices 105+F will be witnessed mainly in the Delta Region tomorrow.

A cold front will increase rain chances by Friday afternoon. Be sure to keep chances in mind and plan accordingly.
