A Heat Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM this evening across portions of east Arkansas and northwest Mississippi. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Heat index values will rise as high as 109 degrees over portions of east Arkansas and northwest Mississippi this afternoon ahead of a slow moving cold front. Slightly less oppressive heat and humidity is expected into the upcoming weekend.
