Our Office

The Medford weather forecast office issues weather warnings, watches and advisories for southern Oregon and northern California 24/7/365. The office also collects weather data from the weather radar located on Mount Ashland and the weather balloon launched twice daily from Medford. The office is continually staffed by a team of meteorologists, hydrologists, electronics technicians and administrative staff who work together to provide accurate and timely weather information to the public and emergency management agencies. Our office is also unique as other NOAA employees from different NOAA line offices work within our weather forecast office.
