Arctic Front Brings Winter Weather and Colder Temperatures to the Eastern U.S.

A series of cold fronts will bring heavy lake effect snow to the northern Great Lakes. The fronts will merge over the Ohio Valley and bring colder temperatures east of the Mississippi River later today into the end of the week. A winter storm brought a widespread swath of 6 to 8 inches of snowfall across southern Wisconsin March 9-10, with higher amounts of 8-12 inches near Lake Michigan. The majority of the snow fell from the evening hours of the 9th through the early morning hours of the 10th. 

The heavy, wet snow brought down a lot of branches and even some trees in the east, resulting in tens of thousands of power outages.
