Click/tap image to enlarge | There is a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for severe weather this afternoon into this evening (mainly from 12PM to 9PM) for east central Florida. The main storm hazards include frequent lightning strikes, damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph (5-14% chance), as well as localized flooding of roadways and low lying-areas. Additionally a brief tornado cannot be ruled out (< 2% chance).

Click/tap image to enlarge | Increasing humidity combined with above-normal temperatures will bring dangerous heat back to East Central Florida, especially going into the weekend. Peak afternoon heat indices have a 60% to 80% to reach or exceed 105, and will be close to Heat Advisory criteria. Major to Extreme HeatRisk impacts are forecast for much of the area. Residents and visitors should monitor the forecast, and plan for a very hot weekend.
