Significant severe weather and heavy rainfall is likely from the central and southern Plains into the the Ozarks today into tonight. Tornadoes, potentially strong to intense, large hail and damaging winds are possible. A weather system will bring widely scattered showers to the region this afternoon. Then there is a 20 percent chance for thunderstorms over southeast Washington into the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley and southern to central Idaho Panhandle this evening. Thunderstorms will be capable of infrequent lightning strikes, small hail, gusty winds, and brief heavy downpours.
