Tropical Depression Nine Forms; Heavy Rainfall in the Southwest and Southeast this Weekend

Tropical Depression Nine has formed and will continue to slowly move to the north-northwest in the coming days. As the storm passes close to the east coast of Florida, tropical storm conditions are possible Sunday through Monday. Tropical Storm Watches have been issued. Sunday will be warm and dry. Clouds will increase Monday with temperatures starting to cool and winds becoming breezy. Rain chances will increase Monday evening and continue on and off through the week. A few T-storms will be possible Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
Active fires will result in smoky skies, with some areas expected to see degraded air quality. Dry, warm weather this week may result in additional smoke from fires around the region. An air quality alert is in effect for portions of the northern Cascades to the Waterville Plateau until further notice.
