Active Spring Like Pattern Across the Eastern Half of the Country

The second storm will track across central and eastern portion of the country this weekend. Heavy wintry precipitation will affect the northern Plains to the upper peninsula of Michigan. Severe thunderstorms are expected along and ahead of the cold front, where very large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible from the mid-Mississippi and Ohio Valleys to southern Plains. Here is a rundown of statistics for our abnormally warm March. Pocatello recorded the highest ever March temperature of 77 degrees on the 18th through 20th and set 7 daily record highs. Idaho Falls recorded the highest ever March temperature of 78 degrees on the 20th and set 8 daily record highs. Burley recorded the highest ever March temperature of 80 degrees on the 20th and set 4 record daily highs. Challis recorded the highest ever March temperature of 75 degrees on the 19th and set 4 record daily highs. Stanley did not break the all time March record high but set 5 daily record highs.
