Overview

Persistent bands of heavy snow set up across the northern Big Horn Basin Tuesday. A 10 to 15 mile wide area of 4 to 8 inches of snow occurred from about 10 miles northwest of Cody east to Powell then northeast to Cowley and Lovell. This heavy area of snow then shifted south and east during the late afternoon and evening, but was more progressive with much lighter snowfall totals across central and southern Big Horn Basin. Snow fell over a large portion of Johnson and Natrona Counties, as well as a central and northern sections of the Wind River Basin. This was the first snowfall of the season in many locations.
