  Overview

A moisture-laden flow off the Pacific Ocean combined with an upper level impulse resulted in very significant snowfall across the western mountains and valleys from Thursday night through Saturday morning.  The heaviest snowfall occurred Friday night and Saturday morning. 1 to 2 feet was common in the mountains with around 1 foot of snow in some valley locations. 20 inches of snow was reported near Bondurant which is northwest of Pinedale. The snow changed to rain Friday night across Star Valley and southern Lincoln Counties. Some snow fell across northern Wyoming Saturday evening. Otherwise the weather was dry east of the Divide, but very windy around Casper Saturday morning. A wind gust of 80 mph was observed at a WYDOT sensor on outerdrive in Casper.
