Above Normal Temperatures, Strong Thunderstorms, Tropical Development Being Monitored

Well above normal temperatures are forecast to shift from the northern Plains through the Northeast U.S. over the long holiday weekend. A few strong to severe thunderstorm will be possible as well along with a potential for excessive rainfall.   Overview

A powerful winter storm first brought
significant snowfall across portions
of western Wyoming Saturday night through
Sunday night, before shifting some significant
snowfall east of the Divide Sunday night
and Monday. Casper broke the daily snowfall
record for December 5th with 7.1 inches of snow.
The old record was 5.8" set in 1978.
