Winter Weather Headlines Remain in Effect for Heavy Snow and High Winds Through Thursday Morning for Portions of the Area

Cold front brings rain to most of the region, but snow to the West Virginia mountains, where 4 to 8 inches of snow are expected. Due to the combination of heavy snow and high winds, a Blizzard Warning is in effect for the northern West Virginia higher elevations from 10 AM thru 10 AM Thursday.  .DISCUSSION...
 A high pressure system will provide dry weather today. 
 
 A cold front crosses Wednesday, bringing gusty winds and chances for 
 rain across much of the area. Accumulating snow is expected 
 across the higher elevations of the northern West Virginia 
 mountains however, with strong winds creating blizzard conditions at 
 times. Rain changes over to snow area wide Wednesday night into 
 Thursday.
 
 A series of clipper systems will then move through Thursday into the 
 weekend bringing more chances for wintry weather. The Friday morning 
 commute could be especially difficult.
