 Fire Weather Planning Forecast
 National Weather Service Charleston WV
 247 PM EDT Wed Jul 15 2026

 .DISCUSSION...
Hot and humid conditions continue to the region through the end of
the week. Thursday will likely be the hottest day with heat indices
approaching the triple digit mark across the lower elevations. Smoke
from distant wildfires will keep skies somewhat hazy at times
 through at least Friday.

The chance for showers and thunderstorms will return as early as
Friday afternoon, and will last through the weekend as a cold front
moves into the area. Some of these storms could produce heavy
rainfall that may lead to localized flash flooding, along with
strong wind gusts. The highest rain chances will be Saturday.
