Hot & Humid This Week!

A dangerous heat wave continues through at least Friday with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s in the lower elevations, with high humidity making it feel like over 105 degrees. Extreme Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories are in effect. Warm overnight lows in the 70s offer little relief. Stay hydrated, check on vulnerable neighbors, and limit outdoor activities during peak heat. Read More >

 .DISCUSSION...
Dangerous heat is the main weather story for our area through the
end of the work week. High pressure is sitting right over us,
bringing clear skies, dry weather, and high temperatures in the
middle to upper 90s today through Friday. When you add in the
humidity, it will feel like it is over 100 degrees outside during
the afternoon hours. Because it will stay very warm and muggy at
night, our bodies will not get much of a chance to cool down. Please
take the heat seriously. Drink plenty of water, stay in the air
conditioning if you can, and check on your neighbors and pets.

By the holiday weekend, the high pressure will finally begin to move
away, which will bring back our chances for scattered rain showers
 and thunderstorms.
