 temperatures in the 90s and heat index values over 100 degrees for 
 many areas. Remember to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor 
 activities during the afternoon hours.
 
 Otherwise, showers and storms will continue across the area today, 
 with periods of storms lingering into early next week. Some storms 
 today may be strong to severe, with a damaging wind threat.
